The countdown is coming to a close

The countdown is coming to a close, The Prague Proms 2011 is about to begin.

The 7th annual Prague Proms starts today at 7.00 pm in a beautiful Smetana Hall of Municipal House. The CNSO will under the baton of their Chief conductor open the festival with the Fantastic Night. In the time Hector Berlioz was composing his Fantastic Symphony he hardly expected how fantastic the work would be.

Today we already know that this music really is admirable. And we beg leave to claim that the entire program of Prague Proms 2011 will also be fantastic. The festival brings number of premieres, including the first appearance of Ennio Morricone in Prague. Other first timers to Prague's audience include Level 42, Terence Blanchard, or Ignat Solzhenitsyn.

Many jazz concerts and other accompanying program will variegate Prague's summer culture menu. The Orchestra Rehearsal, the theatre adaptation of Fellini's famous movie, or the performances of trumpet virtuosos Bobby Shew and Guy Touvron will certainly bring you joy as well as Carl Davis who will quite traditionally appear with the CNSO conducting another series of the Hollywood Nights, this time subtitled The Oscar Winners.

More and more concerts are prepared for you until July 23 when the Gospel Showcase will be introduced to close Prague Proms 2011, and we will start to be focusing on the next annual. No end of the world can ever stop us.

We are looking forward to meeting you in the concert halls and other venues!
